Miami

I had my first trip to Miami the over the weekend and it was, for the most part, very nice. The weather was perfect and it was actually hotter at home than it was there. I just wish that I could have had some time to look at it through the lens of a 20-something person and not feel like a child the whole time. Being on a trip with your mom, grandma, and auntie will do that to you. My mom refused to let me drive the rental car, even when she was in it. She actually said " I am not letting my baby drive in Miami and go off by herself." Huh? Last I checked I was a full-grown woman with a mortgage, car payment, fiance, and a dog. In other words, I am responsible. But to her I am still a child. So if she wanted me to be a child then that's what I was. I threw a full on tantrum. Oh, I also got mad with my grandma who said I couldn't drive anywhere because I had one drink, three hours prior! WOW!!!

Well, now that I am experienced the Mia, I plan to go back with my girls. I know that we will paint the town pink :-)

Wedding lessons learned

I'm back and I'm a Mrs! The ceremony was beautiful. The reception was fun. I learned a few things that I will take into my future work as a wedding coordinator (something I have always wanted to to). I have a few things that I wished we would have done differently. I kinda wish we had hired a different wedding coordinator. She did do her job and she pulled the day together but... I don't feel like we were really heard during the whole planning process. So, my advice to anyone who is still in the planning process: 1. If you hire a coordinator, pick someone who respects your budget no matter what it is. 2. Be really detailed with what your vision is for each element of your wedding. Make sure that the person who is in charge of the day has a thorough understanding of that vision. 3. Things will go wrong. Don't sweat it. The morning of the wedding I woke up to a text from my hair and makeup person saying instead of her arriving at 8:00 she would be there at 12:00. I didn...

Where does the time go?

16 days until I make the change from Ms. to Mrs. I feel like I am not yet getting the chance to soak it in. I am still trying to adjust to the new job and keep up with my normal household tasks. I guess I will fully realize it when I put on the dress.

Cookie monster

That is what I feel like right now. The one thing I have no business eating right now is calling my name as I sit in Panera. I just finished my chicken noodle soup and salad and I want a big ole chocolate chip cookie! But if I were to eat one it would mean no more food for the rest of the day due to using up all of my points. Must.....resist.....temptation........
